My Partner, Jeff Gold, was able to get two good results in San Fernando Court this month. One case involved an accident and a .14 breath test result. Normally, an accident mandates additional penalties such as Caltrans or even jail time, but Jeff was able to get a reduction to a "wet reckless." The other case involved a .11 breath test. In this case, Jeff was able to get a "dry reckless." One major benefit of a reduction to a wet or dry reckless in Los Angeles is the avoidance of the requirement in DUI cases to install an ignition interlock device in the defendant's vehicle. This is a requirement for DUI convictions resulting from DUI arrests after June 1st, 2010 in Los Angeles County.
